These photos are of the three weeks Veronica spent down in Peru with her parents from November 16 - December 5, 2008 visiting family in Lima and eating delicious Peruvian food! Highlights of the trip were learning how to surf, pole dancing in Lima, and going on a side-trip to Tarma in the Andes and to La Merced, San Ramon and Satipo in the Central Peruvian Jungle. Veronica spent three weeks down in Peru with her parents from November 16 - December 5, 2008. Visited family in Lima... was so nice to see everyone, catch up with my relatives and grandma, and eat all the delicious Peruvian food! Highlights of the trip were learning how to surf, pole dancing Lima style (including teaching a workshop on our Canadian techniques), and going on a four day trip to Tarma in the Andes and to La Merced, San Ramon and Satipo in the Central Peruvian Jungle. Also visited the marshes in Villa, saw the Lima fountains, the beaches outside of Lima....

Veronica heads down to Peru with her family... We visited mostly family in Lima but also went on a little side trip with Aunt Marilu and Uncle Aizic to Paracas and the Islas Ballestas (i.e. Poor Man's Galapagos)
Travelling all over Peru (coast, sierra/highlands, jungle).
Tony and V were in South America for 5 months, starting off travelling with Jocelyn for 2 months and finished off the trip with Tony's sister Frances meeting us for the last 2 months.
Also made it to Ecuador, Bolivia and Chile in the 5 months we were in South America but unfortunately have none of those photos online.
Cochabamba madness, demonstrations, halloween
Tony, Frances and Veronica visiting Arequipa in Peru before crossing into Chile to visit Arica and doing a tour in the northern Chilean mountains.
Visited the famous Nasca lines. Also saw a very interesting 2700 year old cemetary where we say many well preserved mummies.
Frances, Tony and V take a trip to Ayacucho in the central highlands of Peru with V's mom and dad. Ayacucho is a town that was recently severely impacted by the Shining Path terrorists and was also the town that V's grandpa grew up in. Saw an amazing fireworks display!
Visiting the Andean city of Cajamarca in the central highlands. Explored a rock forest and visited a pre-Inca cemetary where we learned about cacti and interesting bugs that are used as red pigment in lipsticks...etc..
On the northern coast of peru. Visitng a witchdoctors market, talking with a shaman, casino fun, visiting archaeological museums and sites including the Tucume Pyramids.
Frances' first glipse of Peru. Explored mangroves in Tumbes, Mancora's gorgeous beach, Piura, and Chulucana's beautiful ceramics.
Frances joins up with Tony and V in Quito, visiting the equator, exploring Loja and Otavalo market, our nightmarish bus ride through Ecuador, and differences between Peu and Ecuador.
