Africa
Tony and Veronica's trip to the Republic of Senegal / Le Senegal, the western-most country in Africa. Travelled around with V's friend Kierstin (whom she met in Kenya) who was at the end of her 2 year peace corps placement in a tiny village in Northern Senegal.
Tony and Veronica's trip to The Gambia, Western Africa, in 2008. The Gambia is the smallest African country, a narrow strip only 48km long, which is surrounded by much larger Senegal. Most of the country is made up of The lush River Gambia, with a bit of land to the North and South of the river.
Spent two weeks in The Gambia and Senegal. This part of the journal describes our journey in The Gambia, including the Atlantic Coast, inland along the River Gambia, and Ginak Island.

Part of V's undergrad included a three month trip around Kenya, Eastern Africa. This was part of the Canadian Field Studies in Africa program where she got to travel around Kenya, camp in game reserves, visit villages, get to know the locals.... all while she did her school work at the same time. The program ended on the coast of the Indian Ocean where they went scuba diving.
