Pole dancing had just appeared as a way to keep fit for the general public and a couple studios had recently opened up to teach this new sport. I signed up right away as the gymnastics aspect of it appealed to me greatly. Tried both studios out and found classes and an environment I greatly enjoyed at Tantra Fitness. After a year of learning pole dancing I competed at Vancouver's first pole dance competition where I won a pole! :) Was dancing on a small square stage not much bigger than 6ft by 6ft which made it quite difficult. This video is pretty bad quality but it's a nice memory.... learned so many new skills since then!
